Guacamole primarily consists of avocado. Avocadoes are mashed to form the base of the sauce. Thereafter, other ingredients such as onion and tomatoes and spices and lime juice can be added. The product is either manufactured and supplied as a frozen product or as a fresh deli style product with a 3 – 10 day shelf life. The frozen product often supplied in bulk is then thawed and served, but very often the avocado ingredient in the Guacamole is oxidized and turns brown quickly, which looks unappetizing.
